CHRISTMAS TIME, MISTLETOE AND … MULLED WINE

December; the glorious festive season that goes back to countless decades of celebrations and festivities. Whether it is Christmas, or Yuletide or simply Xmas we all can agree that this is the time to take it easy and relax. So having said that, I decided to take a break from my usual routine and just relax for these festive times and just enjoy the days.

However, what is Christmas without some good mulled wine to keep you warm and cozy? So, this year I decided to whip up my own batch of Mulled wine for the season instead of buying the ready made variety. The process to make mulled wine is quite simple. I bought some red wine, and added some spicy rum, gin, chocolate liquor and a shot of Jagermeister to it and left it to settle overnight.

Than I heated up the wine mixture and added some fruits to it for the taste, which includes; an orange, a lemon, an apple and a banana. Once the mix was simmered for the desired time, I added the spices. I used Rosemary, sage, cinnamon, nutmeg and paprika and left the entire thing simmer for a little longer before reaching the boiling point.

Then I took the mixture off the stove and now I’ll just let all the ingredients simmer overnight and then I’ll siphon the wine the following morning, and there we have it, mulled wine ready for action.

Just reheat, drink and enjoy the days 🙂
